Early Saturday

<--- That's about what I look like so early this Saturday morning. To me it's still Friday night, though, because I haven't been to bed yet. I've been a bit under the weather today with a touch of flu bug so have been napping off and on.

Even though it's late and I'm sleepy, I'm not sleepy enough to go to sleep. That makes sense to anyone else? (Good.)

I suppose I can catch up on things.

-----

Hubby:
He was at work all this past week. It was just him, another trainer and some bosses getting things ready for when the layoff is over. He has one more week of layoff next week. It's nice having him home.

-----

Marriage: Even at my ripe old age I'm still learning how this marriage thing works. See.. I used to get my nose all bent if he didn't compliment me on cleaning the house or doing laundry, etc. I realized how silly this was one day when he didn't notice I'd vacuumed the lampshades. (Quit rolling your eyes ya'll.)

Why did I expect him to say something every dang day??? I don't know why it took so long. But that day it clicked for me.

These things I do while he's at work are my job. It's a pretty easy job at that. Except on ceiling mopping day. (That was a joke. Sheesh.) On that day I realized I don't compliment HIM every day when he comes home from a hard day's work, now do I??? I don't go, "Oh, honey! You went to work today!!! I'm so proud of you!!!"

I'm learning.

Gaming: I have weened myself off my addiction to World Of Warcraft. Now I'm hooked on playing Sims 2 Castaway for PS2. We rented it last week just "cuz." We have two game systems that have sat idle for a long, long time. (The other is an XBox 360.) We both got hooked on it and the day we returned it to the video store, we went to Game Stop and bought a used one.

It's still an addiction, but at least I'm in a different room of the house.

-----

Hobby: I've been terribly frustrated trying to use my new Cricut paper cutter thing. I know how it works. That's not the problem. The problem has been that whatever I made looked very childish. Certainly not anything I would ever send out. (I'm scrapbooking greeting cards.)

I was playing around with the Cricut the other day while hubby was playing Sims, and I tried a different paper than I'd been practicing with. What a difference! The paper I began using didn't match anything, but I could see (finally) how the right colors of that kind of paper would turn out good results. With lots of practice, of course.

When I was done for the night and was cleaning up the clutter I was smiling. I had been ready to toss the Cricut or EBay it. Now I'll keep plugging along. And get more of the right paper.

-----

A Scare: I had a scare this morning. The phone rang and I looked at the caller ID. It was hubby's workplace! YIKES!!! A thousand thoughts went through my head in the time it took for the second ring to turn into the third ring..

Oh my God. He's been injured (or worse). I'll need to take a quick shower and throw some clothes on. I need to find out how to get to whatever hospital he's gone to. Who should I call? My mom? My kids?

I answered before the fourth ring. It was a recorded message saying his workplace had some jobs open in a nearby city and those interested should fill out an application.

Well good for Ford. Good for the economy. But I hope they never scare me like that again.

An Ad: Even though this is an ad for the best diet pill it wouldn't hurt me to check it out. Maybe tomorrow. I have one more post to make before I haul my fat ass off to bed. (Smile.)

I seriously can NOT comment here... vacuuming the lamp shades? As I said - I think visiting my house would give you a SERIOUS complex - we'll just have to hang out "out" somewhere hehe.

Ohhhhhhhhhhh I've got it!!! You can hook a little sprayer thing on Mike's RC 'copter... and as he flies it around the house, it can spray dusting spray on your wooden furniture and your lamp shades! Hey - that's a pretty garsh darn good idea, if I do say so myself - it's right up there with sock-dusting while you play SIMS!
:-D

I really entertain you, don't I? hehe

Oh yeah, disregard that 'can NOT comment here' comment, as it is kinda obvious I did, in fact, comment.

toodles

Can you come clean my house? But seriously, I learned a lot about you in this post. Loved it.

I can't wait to see what you create with your Cricut! I hope you'll take photos and post them.

And yes, I've been sleepy, but not sleepy enough to sleep. I totally get that.

I used to feel like you Barb - wanting compliments about the cleaning etc, etc. Now MWM does the cleaning since he retired but I don't think to compliment him!

Hmmmm Sims. I've always wanted to try that game. I have a PS2, but I think I want to try the PC version.

WHoooHoooo for figureing out the Cricut, I can imagine how frustrating it must be.

Oh, and your caller id story, I'm sorry but it made me laugh :-0
