The focus of this post will be what is commonly referred to as being a basket case. This is something I can relate to quite well, thank you very much. Luckily finding proper medication helps with this. Sometimes. Other times? Well.. it ain't pretty. (Blink.)
I have a feeling I'm not the only blogger rowing this boat.
And THAT makes me think of a few lines from the Elton John hit "Your Song."
I'm not one of those who can easily hide.
I don't have much money but boy if I did,
I'd buy a big house where we both could live.
Now, where would a group of people who think of themselves as basket cases live? Why in a basket house, of course!!!

Trust me....I've taken trips to the basket house several times. And it was a very SHORT drive.
Is being a basket case anything like losing your marbles?

The problem with basket cases is they think people like us are mad ;-)
More often than not I'm a basket case these days! Happy HOT day :)
I had a teacher that used to sing that song every day. And yes, she was a basket case. ;)
My mother used to sing that song!! How funny that I was talking on the phone w/ her when I came to your blog! We were just talking about how we felt like we were losing our minds. Thank you for reminding me that I'm not alone...even if it's slightly disturbing to have something like that in common. ;)
That does look like the perfect house for a bunch of basket cases.
LOL! Great post...I'm right there with you...
great post skittles!
That was definately good for a chuckle this morning. Makes me wish I'd gone a slightly different route for my HoT but there will be another day...
A tisket,
a tasket,
How could you lose that basket?
I'd comment, but I don't have time right now... I have to go pack my stuff, cuz apparently, I'm moving ;-P
That basket looks like the Longaberger Building in Newark, Ohio! I lived near while growing up.
And I know the song "They're Coming To Take Me Away" all to well. My meany sister used to babysit me and my brother when we were young. When it got dark she'd turn off all the lights and play that song. She thought it was soooooo funny. Us, not so much. I forgave her when I grew up.
I loved this post Barb!!!! It brought back so many memories from my childhood. And I love remembering, even the scary song.
I was just telling John today that since I had Aidan I've lost my mind. I can't remember where I put anything. Wanna be room mates?
I can't hear it right now - am having audio difficulties, but I believe my college roommate used to sing that song - if it's the one I'm thinking of. What a great song and post.
I love the basket case house!
Thanks for hosting!
