A Day In Court

Earlier today my daughter had a court date. The one that decided where my grandson will live.. either with the foster dad (who may then have the opportunity to adopt him) or be returned to my daughter. This is final. There will be no more hearings or court dates after today.

I haven't heard from my daughter, but I'm pretty sure what the decision was. I'm guessing the foster dad was "awarded" my grandson.

I wanted to be clear that I am ok with that. Foster dad has been good for my grandson and said grandson has thrived under his care. I really mean this despite a recent post.

I hope and pray that foster dad will keep me in the loop. Legally he doesn't have to. My heart will break into a million pieces if he doesn't.

The last time grandson was at my house - 2 years ago.

Most people think the song in the following video is a love song. It is. And in more ways than one..

Daughter was living with me when grandson was born. When he was about a week old, I heard my daughter singing. I went and peeked around the door into her room. She was holding grandson, rocking him. And singing him this.. a love song.

Why not call him or contact him some way and tell him, exactly what you said here, that you'll be there to help him anyway you can and that you do support him. Open the door and let him walk through so you can be there as part of your grandson's life too. Hope all goes well for all concerned though, Barb. Tough love is just that, isn't it?

Jeni: He knows all of this as we spoke a while back about what we thought the outcome would be.

Today I was waiting to hear from my daughter as she was my priority. Not to detract from what this all means to my grandson, but today he will not know much of whatever transpired.. but my daughter would be well aware.

Foster dad rarely answers his phone. I guess I'm hoping he'll see this post and call me. Now that I know he reads my blog. (Smile.)

I guess wherever your grandson is happy is the main thing. He's so cute, I hope you see him soon. x

Akelamalu: That's what I want for him, too.

I'm sincerely hoping that he will keep you in the loop. I think he will... I pray he will. Regardless of what has happened, that boy deserves to still have you in his life.

Misty: You've been listening for the last year and a half, so I know you know what's in my mind and heart.

He's lucky to have so many people want the best for him and I'm glad he's going to get it. I am sorry you don't get to see him as often as you'd like to though :(

*heavy sigh* I can't express just how awful I feel for your daughter. It's just so messed up.

Frigga: A lot of people love that little boy.

Autumn: It's how it should be right now. It's sad that there won't be more chances, though. I know you understand and why you do. ***Hugs***

I'm sorry I'm a bit late catching up here. If the result of the court are against your daughter, I'm sorry for that. If the results are for your daughter, that's nice to hear. Either way... as long as GS is happy and healthy. However, it would be wonderful if you can still be in his life. Hugs
