I've tried an experiment today. I tried not to talk nonstop for a short time. I decided to do this when Mr. Skittles had been awake for maybe ten minutes and he was already flinching every time I said something. Which was often.
I put a timer on my desk and set it for ten minutes. I told myself (and Mr. Skittles) that I would not talk until time was up. Sounds easy enough. It was awful, I tell you, awful!
I tried to cheat by singing "I didn't say I wouldn't singggg." My singing is worse than my talking so I gave up on that. I tapped my foot.. drummed my fingers on the desk. Thought of a million things to say including something about Ferrari parts. I looked at the timer. Still five minutes?!?!?!
I thought about holding the back of my hand to my forehead and faking a dramatic faint. I decided against that idea because it's too hard to get my fat ass up off the floor. I went to YouTube and played a song. Still two minutes.
I looked to see if Mr. Skittles was looking at me. He was sitting there playing a game at Pogo. He looked so calm and relaxed. Poor baby. I was sure he missed hearing my voice. I picked up the timer and turned it until it dinged the end of my time. I could talk again.
He started flinching again.

OMG - you absolutely crack me up! I love your sense of humor. NOW, I know why you were e-mailing me asking me where the hell I was. hehe
LOL
I know how it is. My sweetie is always on conference calls and we share a large office. I'm on one side and he is on the other. When he is on these calls I have to turn off my tv and not talk. It's painful. I always always think of 10 things he must know now! I wait until he is off the phone and forget 9 of them.
lol. u need to get yourself a book to read or something ;-)
I've done something similar before. It didn't last long. ;)
I have two words for you and Maggie.
