What It Looks Like

Whenever someone is taking my picture I tell them "from the boobs up, please." That's because my obesity isn't quite as apparent that way.

I thought I'd be brave a post a full-view picture that hubby took of me earlier today.. just so I could post it, in fact.

This is what 280 pounds looks like.

If I don't get serious about losing some weight hubby is going to need to call around to get some life insurance quotes.

I'm going to be completely honest here - although you probable won't believe me anyway ;-) You've mentioned to me many times how 'obese' you are... I have to admit that you look WAY better than what I imagined after hearing the things you have said about yourself. Sweetie, you're beautiful - inside and out - and I truly mean that!

I completely understand what it is like to be unhappy with yourself physically. I'm there right now - just as I am there most of the time. (((((HUGS)))) You will always be one of my best friends, and I will support you through everything.

as misty dawn said previously you do tend to make yourself look worse than you really are. I think we all feel like chunky monkeys sometimes. I have chunky monkey days all the time. I used to not get out of bed some mornings because of how terrible I felt about myself (and this was AFTER I lost 100 pounds). gravity is not woman's best friend : ) BUT we can defy gravity with positive attitudes.

Your appearance isn't nearly as bad as you think it is. I promise. (This is coming from another 200+ out there.) :)

Ya know Barb, someday I think I'm going to just bop Misty upside the head for getting inside my head and writing exactly what I was planning to say to you here! Isn't it amazing that we all feel the same way about you -and the extra weight you say is really bogging you down too. I can relate fully to those feelings too since I'm carrying around a lot more than I should be these days -and I'm not referring to my two-year-old grandson there either! As Misty said it, Barb, you are beautiful inside and out. Ride that wave as far as it will take you to keep building up your confidence and self-esteem as they all tie together in efforts to work on successful weight loss too. I sure can't preach about that issue though until or unless I address my own issues there first as well. Just hang tight, my friend! You looked great in that picture, ya know!

Honey that is beauty, and I can relate as I weigh in at 267 right now, much to my doc's chagrin.
Don't put yourself down please.
