Not too long ago I posted about how I hadn't had a clear favorite to win this year's American Idol. (In that post I said I'd been blown away by David Cook's performance of the Roberta Flack song "Killing Me Softly" the night before.)That wasn't entirely true. Right from the start of this season I was impressed with the talent of 17 year old David Archuleta. But as the weeks went by I started wondering if he could be a STAR. I kept waiting for him to sing like a modern, marketable kind of star.. not just a 17 year old with an amazing voice.
Last night he did. And my choice to win this year's American Idol is definitely David Archuleta. If you haven't seen him yet, or want to see him again, please watch this video. You'll see what I mean.

too funny. i thought exactly the same thing. i think david cook would be better as a non-winner anyway (the daughtry factor). i am a big fan of both -- and for such different reasons. but as the winner of idol -- i think archuleta too.
I agree, David A definitely did better. He sang that song so well. I think he definitely deserves to win.
Aurora is going to be drooling all over again when I show her this when she comes home from school. I wonder if I have enough napkins?
Wow, I haven't watched this show this season, I know horrible eh? But, he DOES have an amazing voice!! We want him to win b/c he's a local and he's clearly the best :)

WEll I know he is a hit with the teen group and why wouldn't he be....do you remember Teen Beat...he reminds me of the boys that were featured in the magazine...one hit wonders...David Cook to my has always been amazing...although I don't think he was on his mark last night....I love his voice and how he interprets songs...but my gut tells me it will be the young David that takes it all...
I didn't watch the show but I read about it today.
