"Three Things I Learned In 2008"
I learned a lot of things last year so it's going to be hard to narrow them down. I'll try, though. (Smile.)
- Married Life: I learned I don't always have to be right or prove my point with my husband. I learned it's OK not to get all twitchy when I see his messy desk because he does so many other things so very well. (That too, ya'll with naughty minds.)
- Mental and Physical: I learned I should never (EVER) take myself off my psyche meds. I learned my pancreas is fine, but acts up when my diet consists of too much fatty food.
- The World: I learned that campaigns can seem to last forever. I learned that the USA can be open-minded enough to elect Obama and that he offers hope and change to many. Myself included. I learned how much water I USED to waste by letting it run while brushing my teeth. (That one's for you Penny.)
Added Note: Sometime last week I mentioned taking up a hobby. I decided to attempt to scrapbook greeting cards. I found the Cricut thingy I was interested in and it was on sale! Much less than their site said it would be.

I hope 2009 is a much better year for you health-wise. I too learned a lot about my own health this year, and to never take it for granted. Wishing you and your family all the best in this next year :) Looking forward to another year of HOT :)
I'm a big believer that, even with bad health, I must remain optimistic. It is vital for my own peace of mind - as is my insistence that my desk - my entire 'study' corner - is NOT in the house, but some alternate universe that no one is allowed to touch but me :-)
hehehehehe *giggling and hiding* about my HoT
heheheheheheh
Wait! You mean there are times when we aren't right???
Pssst - I wanna learn to scrapbook with you!
I'm hoping for a better year for both of us! :)
you realize with that first one you are bragging right?
I bet you would be great at greeting cards...
How did you know I have a naughty mind? hehe
This should be easy and I can't wait to read more of this week HOT and mine will be up tomorrow.
Coffee is on.
Thanks, Barbara, for featuring my blog this week! I'm soooo excited!
If I had my thinking cap on straight I probably could almost have parroted your three. I hope you have a better year all round this year
Three very important life lessons! I just can't think of any thing I WANT to write about that I learned in 2008. Im in a blah mood. I hope my email about the Cricut helped.

Excellent post Skittles!!! Excellent. Ummmmmm, even the 'naughty mind' part....hehehehehe
I'm really looking forward to January 20th...it's gonna be so historical. I'm hoping you have something for the category that I can write about the swearing in of such a wonderful day in USA!! hehehehe
I bet your #1 has helped a lot in your marriage. I know it helped me when I learned a few years ago to accept my hubby for who he is and quit trying to make him more like me. :-)
A fine list.
But, for my money, I'd say that campaigns don't just seem to last forever....
Good job narrowing it down, I had a hard time with that too. I already learned in my 26 years of marriage that I don't always have TO BE right (even though I always am). Hee hee.
The scrapbooking sounds like so much fun - much more fun that political campaigns! I made a series of quilted cards several years ago and sold them in a quilters' shop.(I don't quilt.) Fun! I'll be watching to see your cards...
May 2009 bring you all the happiness and blessing. :o)
You reminded me of something ELSE I learned! To help promote mental acuity, brush your teeth with your "opposite" hand. I always mean to do it, but I forget because, well, I'm not as sharp as I used to be.
Happy 2009!
Good list! I am another one on psych meds for life. Dh and I were just talking about how much things don't bother us like they used to. It is nice to come to the realization that things will be ok. I am so much calmer than I used to be. Of course, it could be the drugs. LOL Just kidding. Or maybe not!
You learned a lot!
I understand the principle of not letting the water run while you're brushing your teeth, but I'm having trouble putting that into practice. I need one hand to brush with and one hand to hold my hair back with. That leaves me no hands to turn the water on and off with. Maybe I should just use a ponytail holder? For my hair, of course.
You didn't know that about the water? Wow. Glad you learned. I've always lived either in the country on a single well or in cities where drought was common so it's strange to me that people wouldn't know just about every water saving method on the planet.
Thanks for your comment on my blog. Sorry for what your son had to go through but it really seems common for kids who aren't cut from the school mold. They don't do too great in the school system but then go on to do great in life. Too bad more teachers don't realize that.
Oooh, I'm twitching at the thought of your number 1. I mean it isn't like I have to be right or prove my point to hubby, it just happens that way. LOL. Excellent theme this week. I love playing.
Skittles -- LOL -- you are too funny. Really, I will never forget the water experiment of 2008. Anyways, been busy since the our computer had difficulties and had to be fixed. Off line stress -- I think there needs to be therapy for that.
