High Priced Pack

I'm working on quitting smoking. The main reason is financial not my health. Both however will benefit when I do completely quit.

The cost of a pack of cigarettes here in Michigan is around $7 a pack. I remember when they were 45 cents. Since we're only 15-20 minutes to Ohio we've gone down there every two weeks because they're cheaper. (We don't go there anymore cuz we're quitting.)

Anyway.. I was browsing the headlines on my home page and saw something HAD to go read. Now I HAVE to share it! I'll summarize..

A man in New Hampshire went to a gas station to buy a pack of cigarettes. He swiped his debit card through the machine to pay for them. A few hours later he checked his account online and saw he'd been charged too much for those cigarettes. In fact he'd been charged 23 quadrillion dollars for them. That's $23,148,855,308,184,500!!!! He was on the phone with his bank for two hours. The next day they corrected the error. Visa declined to comment.

I saw that and now I wonder how many other things on his account will get screwed up. I wouldn't trust that it got fixed and stayed fixed.

Holy Rip! If that ever happened to me, I wouldn't need to worry about trying to quit smoking as I would have gone into immediate cardiac arrest and my kids would be planning my funeral a day or two later! One way to solve the quitting dilemma, huh?
