What Didn't Happen

OK. So me and Mr. Skittles had a little tiff last night over something that comes up quite frequently around the Skittles household. What it was about will not be written about here. Not today anyway.

Suffice it to say that at the end of it I was pissed and threw a couple things to relieve tension. I throw things sometimes. (If I don't then I will turn the anger/whatever inward and do self-harm crap.) One thing was my camera because it was close to me. It was still in it's padded case so it's probably safe. I haven't checked yet. If it's broken I guess I'll have to forfeit my chance of being a Naples photographer. That's all Greek to me anyway. *snicker*

Back to what happened and what DIDN'T happen. To avoid further damage of household goods, I went for a drive. My main intention was to go get a pack of cigarettes. I passed stores and gas stations yet I didn't stop. My desire to continue being smoke-free was stronger than my desire to have one.

That's why I shared the story of last night. The last time I was really stressed I smoked. This time I didn't.

--------

Here's a quiz I took. I like the last line. *whistle*

You Need Community

You are a very social person. You are happiest when you're around other people. You need many people in your life. Friends and family make life worth living for you.

You have many relationships in your life, and you are constantly seeking new people out. You need to feel like you're part of a group or a tribe. You don't like to feel like you're going it alone.

I go for drives too but not when I am angry...and it seems that I have not been angry in quite awhile, so I can't even remember what I used to do when I got angry....

back to the crayons....

Wow... "my desire to continue being smoke-free was stronger than my desire to have one"... GREAT FOR YOU.

I like the quiz too... I actually thought (before I took mine) that I would have the same answer... but alas it is not. However, I do believe that there is merit in what it 'told' me...

You Need Acceptance
You aren't truly happy in life unless you are able to accept yourself, flaws and all. You also need to be accepted by other people. You like feeling you belong and that you're not being judged.

You are a welcoming and open minded person. It's not hard for you to accept others for who they are. You believe that everyone is happiest when we live without judgement or prejudice. And you're doing your part to make that happen.

So Barbara... you are not going this alone... hope you don't feel you are. Now a ? for you... do you accept me? LOL... nah... seriously... I know you aren't blogging much.. but I have something on mine today... perhaps I'll just copy/paste to an email for you my friend.

Good you didn't let the fight push you back in your effort to quit.

I am SO, SO, SO impressed!!! WOW - I honestly don't know if I could have done that, Barb. I would have been at the first gas station.

Oh - my quiz results:

Good for you! I'm addicted to nicotine gum, but I'm so thankful I don't smoke. It was the hardes thing... quitting. I'm proud of you.
