Heads Or Tails

In July of 2007, me and Mr. Skittles decided to head off in search of a moose. He'd never seen one. We thought he'd seen one while on vacation in Yellowstone, but upon examining the photos when we got home we saw it had actually been an elk.

I Googled the best place to see a moose and found out an area in Vermont was a good place to try. He had some vacation time so we tossed stuff in the car and set off. (This is how most of our vacations begin.)

Let me tell you.. we drove up, down and around Vermont. Then we threw in New Hampshire and Maine just for good measure. No moose.

As we were heading back home we swung by Niagara Falls. It's a beautiful sight.. all that WATER.

A view from the U.S. side.

I have been there! It is an amazing sight. Too bad you didn't ever see a moose. I have never seen one although I too have seen elk in Washington state near my grandma's house.

The Curmudgeon family has been to the Falls -- one of the few places we've ever been as a group, in fact. We rode on the Maid of the Mist and went behind the Falls (I think that's on the American side) and down the wood staircase that is featured in woodstain ads -- I'm virtually positive that this is on the American side, too. And we walked across the bridge to Canada and took our lunch looking over the Falls. It was quite a day. My wife offered to push me over in a barrel as well but I demurred. We arrived at night and wanted to get a look then, but we couldn't find them. But that's another story....

No moose sighting, huh? I had no idea the moose were so elusive. I know you we always saw them in Yellowstone. But that is probably too far of a drive, right?

At least you got this wonderful picture out of it!

That is just amazing. I always wonder how there can be that much water. Wouldn't it just run out with that much going over the edge so fast?

I've never seen a moose either, at least not that I can remember.
