I love donuts. They are a bigger temptation for me than almost any other food. Chips are right up there, but unless the bag is open for mealtime I won't get the bag and eat mindlessly. After the bag is open and in front of me might be a different story. Since I've been eating healthier, chips don't come into my home so it's not an issue anymore.
Back to the donuts.. They call to me. They draw me to them like a magnet. Imagine my surprise when Mr. Skittles brought home a box of them from his grocery shopping trip yesterday. My eyes could not leave the box. I grabbed a banana to eat instead. Smart choice but still the donuts called me. I took the box and gave it to Mr. Skittles who was in his computer room and asked him to hide them.
To make a long story shorter.. I went into his room later and saw them sitting in plain sight on his desk's hutch and took one. He was in there so it wasn't like I was sneaking, but he realized that the donuts were going to be a bigger temptation for me than he'd thought when he'd bought them. He said he'd take them to work to get them out of the house.
Mr. Skittles is a fluffy guy. Nowhere near as fluffy as I am. He doesn't need anything like diet pills for men. He doesn't have diabetes like I do. If he wants to eat the donuts at work to protect me from them then I admire him for that. Kinda. A donut sure would taste good, though.
Do you have any foods that tempt you?

doughnuts filled with cream and cake with icing--yum icing!
Yes, I have foods that tempt me. We've talked and I've shared that I lost over 70 lbs a couple of years ago. The one food that I still haven't gotten over are crunchy Cheetos. My younger daughter loves them. I asked her a couple of years ago if we could go without them in the house... to help mommy. She agreed. Little did she know (or me) that that agreement would last a lifetime. I still to this day can't have them in the house.
HOWEVER, Krispy Kreme donuts used to also be a problem for me. I couldn't buy gas at Racetrac, because they had Krispy Kreme donuts (buy singles) right there, next to the cash register. I am proud to say that today I can walk right past Krispy Kremes... and not have one (I am still tempted, but can resist).
BTW... this comment should be worth 2 minutes at least.... :)
if it is food...i will eat it. yep love me some donuts too. any food i can not control, i try not to purchase them

thank you for visiting my site!!!
Ice cream and chocolate are my weakness!!!
mashed potatoes with gravy I don't care for doughnuts fortunately
At least they aren't tempting you anymore :) You know all my favorite junk foods! I'm proud of you riding your bike too :)
I used to love doughnuts but now I don't have a taste for them like I did. I don't have one particular downfall as far as snack foods go-as long as they are out of sight.
i would have a problem with the doughnuts. i also can't open the chip bag as i will inhale . it's a struggle with food. i think that ice cream is the item i have a hard time ignoring. thanks for your comment on my blog re playhouse. indeed it was a labor of love. take care. Rose
Oatmeal with LOTS of brown sugar and butter.
Oh my! Donuts are most definitely one of the nemesis foods for me too! Love 'em!
Would you believe, I weighed myself last night, figuring after the surgery and such, I may have lost a bit more weight but to my surprise, I gained back 5 pounds! How depressing is that?
Gonna have to invest in a bike to keep up with the exercise program here I think. Pedal extra for me today now, Kiddo!
I won't go into the Donut Diatribe (how's that for alliteration?)....BUT now that they have been labelled as 'Mike's Donuts', you know not to touch them.....riiiiiiight? :=)
Cookies call to me....especially chocolate ones.
