I don't know if the three of you who still check my blog every day have noticed, but I always list what book I'm currently reading on my left sidebar. Sometimes that will change as quickly as twice a week. Other times it may seem to just sit there forever.
I read every night. I have for years. I also have a large collection of books. Ask my kids. They hate it when they've helped me move. (I have even more now..) I LOVE the library.. it's one of my favorite places in the world, but I like to own my books.
I put a new releases on my Christmas wish list. (Hint, hint.. the new book in the Odd Thomas series this year.)
I don't mind used books at all. In fact most of the ones I have came from the Goodwill store. At anywhere from twenty-five cents to a dollar it's the best buy I can find.

are you signed up on GoodReads?
my daughter turned me on to it...I think you would enjoy it.
I am reading The Good Guy by Dean Koontz.
There's a new Odd Thomas book coming out this year?! Yay! I don't own many books, but I love going and getting a big stack from the library :) Right now I have 2 Dean Koontz and 3 Clive Cussler waiting to be read.
Another addiction. I'm working on 3 series, one of which has more than 130 volumes. *sigh* Poor Hubby's never gonna be bored with all the shelves I'll expect him to build for me.
3 people that read your blog? BAH! as if! You're SO LOVED BARB!
My husband despairs about the number of books that I have. Last count nearly 4000, but they are really important to me. Like you, I like to own my own, and I can always pick up something that suits my mood.
I love to scour yard sales for books. Why pay $20 for a book when you can find it for less than $2?
I just finished "The Husband" by Dean Koontz...it was ok.
I can't wait for the new Odd Thomas book! I love that series!
Hubs just looks at me and says "More books, huh? Yeah, that's just what you need." To which I respond, "I KNOW!" hehehe
Just finished The Good Guy (*shiver*).
Odd Hours is out in Hard cover (Book number 4 in the Odd series - Odd Thomas, Forever Odd, Brother Odd) was at Costco, so I bought it.....but I am not reading it yet....have just started The Husband...also by Koontz.
I think we need a Koontz fan club.
