It's been oh.. about a week (or so) since I wrote about my health issues. Time to catch up, I guess.
I had an MRI of my pancreas and that came out OK. I had the Endoscopy to check inside my tummy.. and that turned out basically OK. I have some inflammation from Gastritis which is being treated with Prilosec. My doctor now thinks the pancreas trouble I've had twice this year is due to high fat intake. What..? ME?? Eat poorly??? Nah..
Good news, bad news and some old news I forgot to mention before. Good news is I've lost some weight. Like 15 pounds since Spring. Bad news is that I was off my meds for about four months and the doctor says my high sugar has been eating up my muscles.
I was put on Ritalin about a month ago. I had a follow up appointment this past week to see how things were going. I told him what I had experienced (hyper/zombie mode) and failed to experience (as in better focus and concentration) so my dose was just doubled. I go back December 12 for my next check. I'm not sure this is the right thing for me. Either I don't really have ADHD or Ritalin isn't the right med for me.
Now for the reason I titled this post the way I did. I HAVE been trying to eat better. Really. I'm even trying to take my meds consistently, including my Insulin.
We got up really early today, played some World Of Warcraft, had some scrambled eggs for breakfast, then went back to bed. I couldn't get to sleep. Then I noticed I was starting to get shaky. Knowing what that usually means, I got up to test my sugar. Woo-doggie it was LOW. I ran (walked) to the kitchen and guzzled some orange juice. (I poured myself a glass.)
This is a sure sign of aging. Writing a post this long about my health issues. Sheesh.

I don't like getting older due to all my health problems so I just try to take it day by day. But I still get really depressed.
button up your overcoat bArb. take good care of yourself!
WOW! Congrats on the 15 pounds lost! I was excited last month at a doctor's visit to see I had lost 5 pounds. Now, if only I could get rid of about 50-60 more of that entity!
Things have been going downhill for me since I reached my 30s. Yuck. Recently got diagnosed w/ hypoglycemia, so I finally know why I often feel so weird. You keep takin' care of yourself, girl!
