Please Pray

Please pray for our friend Misty and all the others living near the Missouri area where tornadoes touched down two days ago.

From The State Journal-Register:

According to the National Weather Service in Lincoln, a small, brief tornado with maximum estimated winds of 90 miles per hour touched down in Christian County four miles west of Pana beginning at 12:04 a.m. Thursday.

The tornado was on the ground for about a minute, or a distance of three miles.

A pole barn was severely damaged, a house was damaged, and treetops were sheared off, the weather service said.

Other small tornado touchdowns were reported in Shelby and Vermillion counties, with farm buildings, homes and other structures damaged. In Macon County, strong winds damaged some homes in the Mount Zion area.

In Kirksville, the twister damaged about 60 buildings and scattered cars and glass across a car dealership. Ten homes were destroyed.

That whole tornado thing in Misty's area -really scary -and just darned glad she's okay. Sure did a number on their vehicle though, didn't it?
The journal thing -I'm like you -been typing all the time and if I try to write out anything, I immediately get writer's cramp. I HATE doing Christmas cards! But, you can always do your own private journal via a blog -just viewable to you and you alone and pour out anything and everything that way without worrying about it being TMI.
Take your meds, say your prayers, cross your fingers and toes -whatever it takes to get things on track in your life, go for it!

The tornado was an F4, and I think there were a lot more than 10 homes destroyed between Novinger and Kirksville, and the car dealership is pretty much non-existent now. Two doors down from where I took refuge, a couple was killed. There were several injuries and three deaths that I'm aware of.

Friday, we had seven inches of rain and flooding everywhere, which is seriously hampering the clean-up and repairs. There are so many people who have been misplaced from their homes.

Thank you for all the prayers for our area. It's going to take a long time for the two towns to recover from this.
