It Isn't All That Fun

My oldest son has been relatively healthy his whole life. *knock wood* He passed through the age of wearing diapers to kids ties to parachute pants pretty much intact. Except for one surgery in 4th grade. This last weekend, at age 35, he broke his right foot. In two places.

When I was a kid I used to think it would be cool to have a broken arm so people could sign my cast. My grandparents had a huge oak tree in their back yard and I would climb it and 'fall' out of it, hoping to land on my arm. I never broke my arm but my rear end sure did get sore.

I hear from my son that having broken bones isn't all that fun.

Have you ever had a broken bone?

I have a chipped ankle, and I've had a few sprains but nothing broken...yet.

I broke my collar bone at about 18 months (obviously don't remember that), fractured my wrist in 8th grade. No fun. I sprained my ankle a little over a year ago, and it hurt like he11! I wished I'd broken it so they could cast it and it would feel better. Then again, that wouldn't be fun, either. Hope your son heals well.
